Thanks to the Raritan Headwaters Association for organizing the successful tree planting at Califon Island Park.
The Borough of Califon and Raritan Headwaters Association have partnered to plant trees along the banks of the South Branch of the Raritan River to help expand the riparian buffer. Before any trees could be planted, a few dedicated people worked hard to clear massive amounts of invasive species to make room for the new trees to take hold. Special thanks to Ed Haversang, Nate Snyder, Jim Kinney, and Robert Lucas for all the pre-planning and hard work to make this tree planting successful.
On Monday, October 21st, approximately 25 volunteers gathered at the park to plant 165 native trees on a beautiful fall day. Please stop by and take a look!
