Note, your dog must have a current Rabies Certification in order to obtain a license.
Please check your pup’s records to determine when he or she is due for a Rabies Vaccination and get your loved one vaccinated today! Please be advised that your dog’s rabies vaccination expiration date must not be with 10 months of January 1, 2020. If it falls within January 1st and October 1st then you must obtain a Booster Rabies Vaccination BEFORE a license is issued. This is a STATE LAW :
PET LICENSING
Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 8:23A-4.2, to issue a dog license, the pet owner must first supply to the dog licensing clerk a rabies vaccination certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian indicating that the animal’s duration of immunity extends throughout at least the first ten months of the twelvemonth licensing period. Animals that have a duration of immunity that expires prior to the ten-month cut-off must receive a booster rabies vaccination prior to licensure. Boosting the animal’s immunity before the expiration of the previous vaccination has not been associated with an increased occurrence of adverse reactions.
