The Califon Council has been looking at ordinances allowing short-term rentals within the Borough.
Short-term rentals are found on sites such as Air BnB or VRBO, where people can book a stay at your home for under 30 days. The ordinance could set forth restrictions determining how often a resident can rent out their home for short-term rentals, the minimum nights a guest must stay for each rental, licensing, and much more.
If the council adopts an ordinance that allows short-term rentals, this will not be done until early 2025. This subject has been discussed during several council meetings and is on the agenda for discussion on December 5th.
