Califon native Drew Flagler won the design contest for the Califon Street Fair with his vibrant design. Drew grew up in Califon skateboarding and biking everywhere. He says “our close knit town is safe and inviting, a perfect place to grow up.” He attended Califon Public School and after graduating from Voorhees High School, went on to graduate in 2013 from Stockton University, with a Communications degree in Media Design.
His design was inspired by the Raritan River “because it is the lifeline of the town.” Drew states, “It’s what the town was built around and is still a focal point today.”
Surprisingly, he has only taken three art classes that were not that exciting for him, but he loved drawing and his natural talent shows through in his design. The 4th Annual Califon Street Fair T-shirts, with Drew’s design, will be on sale for $5 at the fair, which will be held on October 9 from 1-5 PM on Main Street in Califon.
