Califon Fun Days

Once again, Califon Fun Days was lots of FUN! Each day, between 30 to 36 children from Califon Borough and surrounding towns attended. The camp was staffed by a young and energetic group of helpers who played with the children, helped with crafts, and helped set up and clean every day.

Califon Recreation would like to send a big thank you to Ryan Firko, Kate Firko, Grace Andersen, Sarah Andersen, Rebecca Riccio, Rose Weber and Nora Cubberly. A Thank You is also conveyed to the many moms who pitched in and helped out. Nicole Dahl brought water everyday so children could be stay hydrated, Lauren Cerniglia organized the scavenger hunt, and Natalie Gast supplied cool hula-hoops!

Thank you’s also go out to Holly Gilbert who sang songs to the children. Holly is a great singer and did an awesome job entertaining everyone. Sue Clausen, the author of “Jerome the Gnome” book attended the camp, read her book and explained the history behind the Gnome Trail.

Another huge thank you from Califon Recreation goes to Shannon’s Fly & Tackle Shop for supplying bait and fishing poles to allow the children to fish.  Shannon’s Fly & Tackle Shop also sent over Chris to help out during the Friday Fishing Day. Chris instructed the attendees how to fish safely.

Thanks to Califon Recreation are also due to Califon Lumber, who donated paint, allowing children to paint their own bird houses and to Matt & Elisa Rispolli from “Hike It Baby” for donating healthy snacks.
