In conjunction with Califon’s Centennial Celebration, the Historical Society will host two guided walking tours of downtown Califon at 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon on Saturday, Oct. 13th . Tours leave the Station, which will be open until 1:30 PM, and include visits to the Nellie Hoffman house, the recently renovated Cabin by the River and the 2nd floor of Rambo’s Country Store.
The Station will be open during the Harvest Festival on Oct. 14th from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM, so stop in to see our latest display, “Califon Through the Years”, before it ends. Additional open dates include: October 21st , November 4th and November 18th. If you have questions, please call Don at 908-832-2012.
Congratulations to Christian Beard, winner of the Historical Society’s 8th Grade Student Achievement Award. Christian was selected for his historical essay written on the Swamp House (circa 1824), which was once used as a stagecoach stop!
