Jonathan Slusher Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk

The Jonathan Slusher Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Fun run will take place on Sunday, October 4 at 1:00 PM in Califon, rain or shine.

The Race is part of the Califon Fall Festival and those family members who do not run will find mounds of fun things to do at the Street Festival while the Race is in progress.  The scholarships honor Jonathan Slusher, former editor of the Hunterdon Review, who passed away in 2010 following a courageous battle against brain cancer.  In his honor, the Slusher Family issues Journalism/Communications scholarships annually in the amount of $1,000 each.

Enabled by generous donations and the annual Jonathan Slusher 5K Run/Walk, the Foundation has awarded 19 scholarships over the past four years.  Fees for the race are $25/person, $5 for the kids race, and families of 4 is $40 (4 persons).
