Decrease your skin cancer risk. As per the MD Anderson Cancer Center more people are diagnosed with skin cancer than any other cancer. Skin cancer is preventable through attention to a few sensible habits.
- Apply sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 or higher.
- Reapply after swimming or every 2-4 hours.
- Wear a wide brimmed hat when outdoors as well as sun protective clothing.
- Teach children about sun safety.
- Sunglasses are important to protect your eyes, polarized lenses will add extra protection.
- Go with your own glow.
- Minimize sun exposure between 10AM and 2PM when the sun’s rays are the strongest.
Fresh air and exercise are all part of a healthy lifestyle, be smart about the sun. Sun protection is key to the avoidance of skin cancer.
